    Hi everyone,

This is Jacky, and I work as a data scientist in the insurance industry.

I’m reading this book with the goal of improving my mental math capability. Despite working in analytics, I’ve found that my numerical skills become progressively worse, especially with the advancement of technology like LLMs. This means I mentally offload more and more low-level work to technology. While being more efficient at work, oddly I feel my mental speed is deteriorating. Working on my mental math is my first to reverse this trend.

Another thing that I want to work on is thinking on my feet, which requires very different skills to working with pens and papers in your own time.

If anyone is finding experiencing similar symptoms as I do or has any suggestion of how to think faster in presentations, interviews, etc., please leave a comment below to connect.

    Hello Jackey

Just replying to another introduction as mentioned in the book.

I’m also interested in working on my mental calculation ability to keep myself challenged.

    Best of luck to you.

    Kind Regards

    Amon Plyler
