I wake up at 4 in the morning and get dressed to jog. I wish for my son to join me someday, but he is too young at the moment. I jog until 6 and afterwards I bathe and have breakfast. I should already be on my way to work by 8 so I come home at 5 or 6. I prepare dinner and afterwards I have my personal downtime before going to bed by 8.
February 25, 2019 at 10:46 pm #5365Hey, Ozzy! Even if you can’t jog with your son, you can still do small exercises with him from inside the house. 🙂 I think you can add that to your habit until he’s ready to jog with you. 😀

The smallest way I can start my habit is to run around my neighbourhood’s block for 30 minutes. I can add half a minute to the duration every day until my jogging habit is 1 hour and 30 minutes long. After that, I will increase the number of laps I can go every month while still maintaining the 1 hour and 30-minute time limit. I cannot break the habit into multiple sets as I have many responsibilities even in the weekends. I also have other habits I need to keep up with.
February 27, 2019 at 10:54 pm #5369Hey there, Ozzy! It seems like you already have your habit fully planned. Keep up the good work!

For Triggers, I use an alarm clock. It’s what I use to consistently wake up at 4Am and jogging is the immediate first agenda. I also already have my own calendar to track my progress with. I am making my habit easier to do by having my running clothes prepared by the bed before I start running. I don’t quite plan to test other triggers soon because I really could only come up with one. I do have other habits though. I help my kids with homework and study with them every Saturday Morning. I shop for groceries Saturday afternoons, I also take my family to a nice dinner every Saturday Evening. I go to church every Sunday Morning and on that afternoon I visit my parents (sometimes with my kids).
March 2, 2019 at 11:17 pm #5373Hey, Ozzy! You can also keep your jogging habit convenient by keeping track of your running distance with your phone. You mentioned you wanted to increase your running distance when you are no longer able to increase the duration. There are apps that can keep track of how many steps or meters you have travelled.

The first step of my habit is definitely to stretch. I do this at my front door before I start running. I also jog in place to loosen up before starting to move. At that point, I’m rarely tempted to turn back. What I really had trouble with was motivation, but I kept the habit small so that it isn’t hard at all to do.
My Mantra is “I don’t forget to jog every morning.”
March 5, 2019 at 11:21 pm #5377Good job on having a warmup routine! You’re doing great, Ozzy! 🙂

I keep my phone handy so that I can get a weather forecast. If it says it might rain, I’ll keep a raincoat in hand. In case the run gets a little to hard for me, I keep good music on my phone so I can just power through the run and keep my mind off things. I’ve also made it so that I won’t feel lazy by doing part of my chores as I jog (I come home from my jog with groceries or things I need for that day). That way I’ll always have a reason to run.
March 10, 2019 at 7:04 pm #5484It’s definitely a good idea to get two habits done at the same time. 🙂 Keep up the good work.
